July 2020 update : the National Trust has informed the BMC that climbing is not allowed - we are currently investigating the reasons behind this and seeing if a solution is possible which addresses their concerns whilst allowing climbing.

Alderley Edge is a somewhat esoteric venue, but can offer some half decent climbing on average rock, if you are prepared to investigate. The rock is conglomerate and sandstone and can be dirty in places. Unspoilt, quiet and never busy. Worth taking a soft brush and cleaning the climbs as you go.
Parking and Approach
Take the B5087 from Alderley Edge to Macclesfield for about 2 miles to a carpark on the left (height barrier but the lane just before on the right has laybys). There are several laybys which can be used to get to various areas quicker. Keep away from the fenced off areas, containing weak and flakey rock.
