A fantastic sandstone crag which offers great routes on a series of isolated buttresses and a quarried section. Note that Storm Arwen has knocked over many of the large trees above Space Buttress and Central Wall.
Unfortunately, many of the trees atop Central Wall and Space Buttress have been knocked over. The first photo shows one lying over the top of Flake Crack. John is of the opinion that the debris in the root ball is delicately perched above the line and will become increasingly unstable as it weathers. It is stating the obvious that you would be well advised to check the top out before embarking on the route. The trees above Australia Crack and Holly Tree Arete are also down. Take care. Almost all of the trees on top of Space Buttress are down, with one lying across the descent gully between Spacewalk and Deception Buttress. This will all take a very long time to resolve, In the meantime be very careful around these trees, they may look stable but that isn't necessarily so.
As of 9/3/2024, the gorse in the quarry was cleared. The landowners of the quarry section are happy for climbers to keep up with this so feel free to take some gardening tools and prune the top outs/landings around the quarry. Being wary of the potential presence of bird nests March-September.

Kyloe Out has a public footpath that runs along the top, but the crag iteslf is on private land. Climbing is permitted by the farmer. Access relationships at Kyloe Out are currently good, please ensure that they stay that way:
Remember, access to Kyloe In is a privilege, not a right and inconsiderate or irresponsible behaviour can lose it. Park sensibly - don't block gates, the road or park on the farmer's mown lawn (see parking section below for more info) No fires Take all litter home including any found at the crag Keep dogs under control (particularly when crossing fields with grazing sheep and cattle)
Parking and Approach
Parking is limited at Kyloe Out so please park carefully, avoiding any gates, the farmers mown lawn and park on only on one side of the road - large agricultural vehicles use the road and parking on both verges narrows the road and blocks their access.
If the verge parking next to the access path at Kyloe Out is full, (NU 03554 39868) there's additional parking past the farm 300m further up the road (towards Kyloe In).
