Sunday 23 February saw Para athletes from all over the country head to Awesome Walls Sheffield for the first round of the British Para Climbing Championships.
The competitors were challenged by two qualification routes, with the top climbers in each category heading to isolation for the final challenge.
The setting team was led by chief route setter Simon Rawlinson (IronMan), Max Ayrton (ex-GB Senior team), Alex Fry (Setting Legend) and Gavin Symonds (Technical Master).
Utilising world class holds for National Competition sponsor, Beta Setting, the route setters provided technical test pieces and slopertastic routes covering all angles Awesome Walls has to offer.
We head to London next for the second round on 6 June.

As the climbing walls, crags and mountains start to open, we wanted to say thanks to every BMC member who supported us through the Coronavirus crisis.
From weekly Facebook Lives and GB Climbing home training videos, to our access team working to re-open the crags and fight for your mountain access, we couldn’t have made it without you.
