BMC Youth Open Competitions 2018

The first event in the BMC competitions calendar takes place this week with Lead climbing at Awesome Walls Sheffield and Youth open Bouldering event taking place at the Depot Nottingham.

The Lead event taking place on Saturday 24 February will see climbers from Youth and Senior categories tackling two qualifying routes to be in with the chance to reach the final.

Registration opens for competitors from 8:30am and closes promptly at 9:30am.

The Youth open bouldering event takes place at the Depot Nottingham. There will be eight blocs per category and competitors get five attempts at each bloc.

11.00am	Qualification round ends for Youth C and B
11.00am	Qualification round starts for Youth A and Junior
1.00pm	Isolation closes for Youth C and B finalists
1.00pm	Qualification round ends for Youth A & Junior
1.30pm	Observation & Finals for Youth C & B
3.30pm	Isolation closes for Youth A and Junior finalists
3.30pm	Finals for Youth C & B finish
4.15pm	Observation & Finals for Youth A and Junior
6.15pm	Finals for Youth A and Junior Female finishes
6.30pm	Presentations

Subsidised Youth Course Places

There are a large number of free places on courses for families who may struggle to afford it. Any families who live in rented accommodation and who receive income support or universal credit may contact the instructor of a course or Alex West for a place.
