Extreme Film School 2004

Posted by Alex Messenger on 26/07/2004

Have you ever wanted to make a film? Following last year’s successful Film School, the Kendal Mountain Film Festival (13th – 21st November) in association with the BBC, LowePro & Manfrotto invites applications from aspiring film-makers.

Aimed at individuals or small teams, this is an ambitious plan to stimulate and lay the foundations for a future in filmmaking. Successful applicants will receive training in camera operations, editing and film production and make a short film in the subject area of Adventure Sports. Last year’s films included rock climbing, polar ice diving, sand dune boarding, urban inline skating and mountain biking.

The films will be shown and judged at the Festival, with the winning film having an opportunity to be broadcast by the BBC. Applications should be made as soon as possible (closing date 15th September), and successful applicants will be notified by end September. Training will take place during two weekends in October plus the Pro day at the Festival on 19th November. Details & application forms at www.mountainfilm.co.uk.
