The Alpine Ski Club is seeking applications for grants towards activities related to ski mountaineering within the framework of the Kenneth Smith Scholarship and the Memorial Adventure Fund.
Entirely at the discretion of the ASC, grants can be provided for the following activities:
- Taking part in a serious ski mountaineering expedition which includes an element of exploration
- Attending an approved training course in the full range of ski mountaineering skills
- Carrying out a research project on an aspect of ski mountaineering
- Other activities, which further the knowledge and practice of safe movement in the mountains on ski
An approved training course is usually considered to be one under the direct supervision of a qualified mountain guide. Awards are especially but not exclusively for young skiers.
