Summit Quarry

Lancashire

A locally important gritstone quarry, where in the recent past access had been well tolerated by the previous landowner. A new landowner appears to have started to in-fill parts of the site and has diverted a watercourse, creating a pool at the base which is affecting access to many of the routes. BMC is currently (January 2020) contacting the local authority and the Environment Agency as it does not appear that any of this work has had the required consent.  It's not know if the new landowner will be restricting access for climbers. Please report any access difficulties to the BMC.

Faces SE round the pool. The E2s round the pool are good, as are the E2s on the buttress just north.
