The BMC is looking for volunteers with specific experience to join the Safeguarding Group.

The Safeguarding Group, together with partners such as the BMC, Mountain Training, the Association of British Climbing Walls and NICAS, oversees all aspects of safeguarding within the BMC and GB Climbing and also takes an overview of safeguarding within our sector.

The group is looking to increase the expertise of the group and is seeking volunteers who have professional expertise in one or more of the following:

  • Safeguarding
  • Mental health
  • Legal
  • Medical

The group meets 4 times a year – currently by video conference online.

If you are interested in being a member of the group please send an outline of your experience, a CV and the names and contact details for two referees, to safeguarding@thebmc.co.uk

We want to say a big thanks to every BMC member who continues to support us through the Coronavirus crisis.

From weekly Facebook Lives and GB Climbing home training videos, to our access team working to re-open the crags and fight for your mountain access, we couldn’t do it without you.

Did you know that we've launched a U27 membership offer for just £1.50 / month? And with full membership from £2.50 / month, it's never been easier to join and support our work:
