We're inviting all BMC volunteers to our Volunteers Gala

Posted by Jane Thompson on 28/07/2022

Over the weekend of 8th-9th October 2022 we will be holding the first Volunteers Gala Weekend to celebrate our volunteers, provide training and networking opportunities and host a Gala Meal on the Saturday evening which will include the presentation of awards to volunteers for 2020-2022.

We’d love you to join us!

This weekend will be at the University of Warwick, near Coventry and is open to any BMC member who volunteers their time in BMC activities, including

  • specialist committee members;
  • locally elected volunteer roles and local area reps;
  • environmental, access and conversation work;
  • competitions and talent;
  • hill-walking leaders and youth event leaders;
  • climbing wall reps;
  • event organisers (including festivals).

In addition, we will also accept applications from any BMC member who is considering becoming a volunteer but we will not be able to guarantee places until we know the total number of applicationsfrom volunteers.

The BMC will be covering the attendees cost of the training, meals (including the Gala Meal) and overnight accommodation. In order to allow more members to attend we are requesting that if you are able you cover your own travel you do so, but the BMC will cover your travel if you request it.

If you want to bring a partner with you they are very welcome to attend but there will be a charge for those who aren’t volunteers.
