Parking and Approach
From Lofthouse in Nidderdale take the Scar House Reservoir Yorkshire Water road that starts just north of the village.
If in more than one car you will need to park near Limley Farm and follow the Nidderdale Way up to Bracken Ridge. However, with one car take the track that branches off the road at Newhouses (right of way uncertain – please back off if requested) and leads up to a junction with the track that traverses the hillside at Summerstone Lodge. Turn left at the track and park considerately in the turning place – remember that vehicles with trailers may need to turn. Walk back eastwards taking the track branching left and uphill just before Bracken Ridge. As this track approaches a wood on the right a quad track goes leftwards. Follow this to a fence and go along this to a big wooden gate. Pick your way carefully between the recently planted trees to the rocks.
