Lakes Area Walks
BMC members are invited to join a social hike, hosted by BMC Lakes volunteers, with local BMC volunteer Rose Gare-Simmons guiding the route. This social walk will be a 21km circular route starting from Kentmere. We’re excited to welcome you for a memorable day in the outdoors!

Come to our next gathering of South West climbers and walkers and get involved in the BMC. Area Meetings are run by volunteers and provide an opportunity for you to discuss issues and influence decisions affecting climbers and walkers locally and nationally

Area Meetings
Area Meetings are run by volunteers and provide an opportunity for you to discuss issues and influence decisions affecting climbers and walkers locally and nationally, and to meet like-minded people and enjoy a sociable night out (or 'in' on Zoom). Area Meetings also provide the platform for election to a range of volunteer roles within the BMC.
VOLUNTEER CONSERVATION DAYS
Conservation Events
Many BMC members will enjoy using the Lake District for hill walking and climbing. In association with Fix the Fells, the BMC are arranging conservation projects in the Cumbrian mountains. Works may involve path maintenance and building, drainage projects, stepping stones, vegetation clearance or cairn-scattering, led by the local Fix the Fells Rangers. There will be 3 projects in the Lakes in 2025. The third project is being held on Wednesday 13th to Friday 15th August 2025.

Many BMC members will enjoy using the Lake District for hill walking and climbing. In association with Fix the Fells, the BMC are arranging conservation projects in the Cumbrian mountains. Works may involve path maintenance and building, drainage projects, stepping stones, vegetation clearance or cairn-scattering, led by the local Fix the Fells Rangers. There will be 3 projects in the Lakes in 2025. The first project is being held on Monday 14th to Wednesday 16th April.

In association with the National Trust, the BMC are arranging conservation projects in the mountains of Eryri. Works may involve path maintenance, drainage projects, stepping stones, vegetation clearance or cairn scattering, led by the local National Trust Rangers. There will be 4 projects in Eryri in 2025. The second project is being held on Wednesday 18th to Friday 20th June 2025.

As part of our ongoing commitment in creating new opportunities for members to keep up to date with BMC news and activities we are running a series of Members Open Forum webinars. These webinars present an opportunity to engage in a Q&A session with the BMC.

Every year the BMC holds an AGM for the purpose of presenting and adopting annual reports and accounts, appointing auditors and electing members of the Board of Directors.
