Ben Nevis: Correct descent bearings from the summit

The descent bearing which was given on Page 105 of Trail Magazine February 2004 is WRONG - if followed it would take you over the north face!

The correct bearings are shown on the map linked to below (Permission by Harvey Maps). Always carry a map and compass in the hills and have the skills to use them accurately.

Practice and develop these skills in surroundings where the consequence of any mistakes are not serious.

Last Friday, BMC Access Officer Tom Carrick attended the State of Our Trails Summit, hosted by Trash Free Trails at Plas Y Brenin. This is the third year in a row that this summit has run and nearly 100 participants joined the summit representing a huge host of organisations across the UK.
