INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR (VOLUNTARY POSITION)
The BMC is seeking an energetic and forward-thinking Director with experience of Marketing, including Digital Marketing, together with good business judgement.
This position will appeal to those who recognise the well-being benefits of active participation in outdoor activities and who share our care and concern for the natural environment. It provides an opportunity to gain satisfaction from contributing to decision-making and scrutiny at a time when the BMC is seeking to grow its membership and enhance its services, whilst championing the environment in the context of increased outdoor participation.
To be eligible for appointment, candidates must be free from any close connection to the BMC within the last 4 years. This means that anyone applying for the role must not have been: on Members’ Council; an employee; an officer of the BMC; or closely connected to any such persons in the last 4 years. Applicants are expected to have a strong affinity for the work and responsibilities of the BMC, irrespective of whether or not they are existing members.

Area Volunteers wanted
Area volunteers undertake vital roles in the democratic structure of the BMC and the work we do on behalf of members and the wider climbing, hill walking and mountaineering community. Each of the ten BMC Areas (eight in England, two in Wales) holds an Area AGM, at which elections for a range of volunteer roles are held, and outside of these meetings, members can be co-opted into roles.

Aftersales Administrator (18 month fixed term contract)
We are seeking to appoint a full-time Petzl Aftersales Administrator to join the Petzl UK Agency based in Tebay, Cumbria (18-month contract - maternity cover).
The Petzl UK Agency is the Lyon Equipment Limited team dedicated to servicing Petzl (a French brand) in the UK and Ireland. The key responsibilities of the agency include sales representation, marketing, sales administration, technical support and aftersales, for both the Outdoor (sports) and Work at Height & Rescue (pro) markets.
Lyon Equipment Limited is a leading supplier of high-quality equipment to the Outdoor, Work at Height and Rescue markets. Established in 1973, our mission is to provide equipment and expertise to allow people to ‘venture further’ within the work at height and rescue industries, cycle, outdoor and watersports markets. In addition to distribution, we design and manufacture our own Lyon branded products and provide technical training for the work at height and rescue industries.
This is a full-time position which equates to a 37.5-hour week. Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:00 and Friday 08:30 to 14:00.
The role will involve:

Answering and responding appropriately to incoming queries via email and telephone, from Petzl Agency customers

Assessing, processing and repairing, when appropriate, Petzl products for Agency customers and end users

Logging and recording accurately all queries, and closing files when issues are resolved

Monitoring and maintaining stock levels of spare parts

Processing replacement orders for customers and end users

Liasing with HQ & other countries Aftersales team via email and/or video meetings

Providing support for sales when necessary, covering breaks, holidays and in busy times

Keeping up to date with current Petzl products, technical specifications, usage of Petzl products and maintaining appropriate qualifications

Assisting the Petzl Agency team when required with Marketing and Rep support

Work and Rescue Sales Manager
Lyon Equipment Limited (Lyon) is proud to be an employee-owned company. We are located adjacent to J38 on the M6 at Tebay, between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
Based in our head office in Tebay, Cumbria the Work and Rescue Sales Manager will be responsible for the growth and development of our Work and Rescue sales department and the associated brands. This will include our own Lyon manufactured product range.
