£35k raised for Mend Our Mountains
In spring 2023, every Cotswold Outdoor, Snow+Rock and Runners Need customer had the chance to add a small donation to their shopping payments, after micro-donation charity Pennies teamed up with them. The total sum of £35,000 raised through this initiative went towards the BMC's Mend Our Mountains footpath repair project. This astounding amount raised shows an absolutely fantastic customer commitment to conserving the beautiful, British countryside.
Cotswold Outdoor raise £16,828 for The Climate Project
Their 2023 Black Friday campaign saw a percentage of each sale go to the Climate Project, raising £16,828 to help transform nearly 8,000 acres of peat moorland in the Peak District and South Pennines with Moors for the Future. This group plants sphagnum, a moss with remarkable carbon-storing capabilities. The re-vegetation and conservation of peatlands reduces erosion, wildfire and flood risk, protects endangered wildlife and transforms a source of carbon into a sink - it can be the equivalent of planting 15,000 broadleaved trees annually.
Waterproof kit donations
Cotswold Outdoor believe the outdoors should be accessible to all, that's why we've donated waterproof kit to support volunteer walk leaders at the BMC and YHA Festival of Walking, promoting safe and environmentally friendly outdoor access. It's a small yet impactful step toward ensuring that everyone can enjoy the outdoors and help care for this fragile environment regardless of their background or circumstances.
