Check out the re-print of the classic BMC guidebook On Peak Rock. With the summer weather finally arriving (as much as it ever does), there’s no better time to get yourself a copy of this selected guide to the very best the Peak has to offer.

From the esoteric to the classic, the brutal to the delicate, OPR has all the information you need to get the most from your climbing in one of the UK’s premier destinations. Check out Niall Grimes's article in the current issue of Summit to see what it’s all about… Other news includes (shh!) – Stanage! – as we go to press, the team are putting the final touches to the guide. Once this is done and it is got to the printers, it will be in the shops quicker than you can sing the Senegalese national anthem. In the world of mountain literature, one award stands head and shoulders over all the others in terms of status and glory. The Banff Mountain Book Competition Awards, based in Canada, have long been held as the gold standard seal of approval; the Olympics, the Oscars, the Mount Everest of climbing. A victory here is a proud nod towards anyone’s work.
