A new BBC series follows Julia Bradbury as she walks Alfred Wainwright's 192-mile Coast to Coast route from St Bees on the Cumbrian coast to Robin Hood’s Bay on the east coast.

The Wainwright Walks: Coast to Coast series of 6 episodes is currently being broadcast on Thursdays on BBC4 at 8.30pm.  The first programme was screened last week and if you missed it you can watch again via the BBC website.

Also, there are six days left to watch the BBC's regional programmes In Search of England's Green and Pleasant Land on BBC iPlayer. The North West programme sees broadcaster and writer Stuart Maconie, checking out some of the Lake District's beauty spots and mountain culture as he talks to locals and visitors about what makes the place tick.
