Crampons recalled after potential fault

Italian climbing hardware manufacturer Climbing Technology has recently announced a precautionary recall of some of its crampon models after plastic bindings were reported to have unexpectedly failed.

After receiving reports of some plastic bindings breaking, the crampon manufacturer has announced a precautionary recall. This affects one batch number, no. 7/12 and covers the following models:

NEVIS

NUPTSE CLASSIC, NUPTSE SEMIAUTOMATIC

NUPTSE EVO CLASSIC, NUPTSE EVO SEMIAUTOMATIC

UPDATE 24/02/2015:

The UK distributor for Climbing Technology, Troll UK, have advised that anyone with crampons from the batch affected by this recall returns them either to the retailer where they were bought or directly to Troll UK.

It appears that some crampons do not have a visible batch number on the plastic binding, Troll UK have confirmed that any such crampons are NOT affected by this recall.
