Results of the British Bouldering Championships 2023.

The atmosphere was buzzing for another year running as the British Bouldering Championships 2023 descended on Devonshire Green in Sheffield. The whole weekend was brilliant and it culminated in an epic Final on Sunday evening. With a mix of young guns and dark horses vying for the title, we were in for a treat.

Eight techy, dynamic, and devious boulders had been created by the talented team of routesetters, which made for an amazing show of grit, determination and sheer brilliance from these incredible climbers. It all came down to the last boulder for both the men and the women, and when the chalk settled, there were two clear winners.

With just one second to spare, Holly Toothill emphatically claimed the gold medal with her buzzer beating top of W4. Meanwhile, Jack MacDougall cruised through the horrible slopers of M4 for his third flash of the competition and clearly claim first place.

Our two British Bouldering Champions are Jack MacDougall, taking the title in his first ever time competing at the BBCs, and Holly Toothill reclaimed her title for her second time after winning it last in 2020.

Mega congratulations to the champs, all the athletes in the finals, and the rest of the competitors for leaving it all out on the mats over the weekend. We’d like to give a huge thanks to all the amazing volunteers that help make this competition, and all the comps the BMC runs, the massive successes that they are. And of course, the dedicated team of routesetters, headed by Max Ayrton, made the competition extremely thrilling to watch.
