The Bridestone boulders are an iconic set of giant, gritstone rock formations in West Yorkshire, popular with climbers and boulderers. Right now, there is a chance to secure access to this land for all and protect the wildlife for future generations by supporting the not-for-profit, Community Interest Company (CIC) Bridestones Rewilded.

Rewilding success at BMC-owned Horseshoe Quarry

Horseshoe Quarry, also known as Furness Quarry, is a large, disused limestone quarry in Stoney Middleton, Peak District with a long history of climbing and owned by the BMC since 2005. Almost three decades on, rewilding at the site has already been fantastically successful, with hundreds of newts and toad tadpoles spotted in the pond this spring.

New: Threat to Navigation Quarry Access for Climbers, Abercynon

The BMC has recently been made aware of a potential land use change to Navigation Quarry, a sandstone crag near Abercynon, north of Cardiff. This site has been popular since the 1980’s as one of the best climbing sites in the area with a good mix of trad and sport routes that often dry quickly in sunny weather.

Cardiff Uni students collect 12 bin bags of rubbish from Taff's Well & Pinnacle, South Wales

Fantastic work from Cardiff University Mountaineering Club (CUMC) last weekend, they cleared at least 12 large bags of litter and a broken mountain bike from Taff’s Well main area and Pinnacle, a roadside crag on the outskirts of Cardiff that suffers from rubbish from traffic blown into the climbing area.
