Eryri Social Walk | 7th March
Join us on a social walk in Eryri for a full mountain day combining practical mountain skills with an unforgettable hill walk across four stunning peaks: Carnedd y Filiast, Mynydd Perfedd, Elidir Fawr and Elidir Fach.
Along the way, you’ll gain hands-on experience in:
- What’s in a backpack: Essential kit for a safe mountain day
- Practical Mountain First Aid Kit: Learn and practice using key items
- Remote First Aid & Casualty Care: Managing incidents when help is far away
- Navigation Basics: Map reading, compass use, and route-finding
- When Things Go Wrong: Risk awareness, decision-making, and mountain safety
This workshop offers a classic circular walk, dramatic views and practical skills all rolled into one high-level adventure. Perfect for both new walkers and those looking to brush up on essential mountain skills. We’re excited to welcome you for a memorable day in the outdoors!
Our walk leader is BMC North Wales Hill Walking Rep and experienced Mountain Leader Owain Tomos, who also works with the North Wales Ambulance and Fire & Rescue Services. Owain is a first-language Welsh speaker and when he's not planning his next climbing trip, he's usually running along the spectacular ridges and trails of Eryri. Alongside life in the mountains, he works with North Wales Fire & Rescue and the Ambulance Service.
