How to: Access Wintour's Leap and Woodcroft Quarry
As a result of issues with antisocial behaviour, a gate has been installed in the fence at the top of Woodcroft Quarry and the holes in the fence repaired.
The gate requires a code to enter and the current code for the lock is 8952 - any changes to the code will be listed here.
The gate has been installed due to issues with anti-social behaviour at Woodcroft Quarry and Fly Wall so it is crucial that climbers ensure they close the gate when entering or leaving and don't pass the code on to non-climbers.
Alternative access routes which provide more convenient access to other areas of Wintour's Leap are the 'Easy Way Down' (a scramble down between Central and South Bay) or by following the path through the woods from the parking area on Lancaut Lane towards Lancaut, then cutting back SE to St James Church and following the river downstream to the northern end of the crag.
