Youth Climbing Series Co-ordinator for London & South East (north)

The Youth Climbing Series Co-ordinator will organise and deliver the 4 rounds of the BMC Youth Climbing Series (YCS) in their area.  Where possible there will be two YCSCs for each area.

We are currently looking for a second YCS Coordinator to support the YCS Co-ordinator for London & South East (north).

Independent Non-Executive Director

The BMC is seeking to appoint an Independent Director, with specialist experience – preferably in the business administration, legal or insurance sector. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved with leading the BMC, using your skills and expertise in financial management and controls, and governance.

The role will appeal to those who recognise the well-being benefits of active participation in outdoor activities, and who share our care and concern for the natural environment.

British Mountaineering Council Nominated Board Member for the Mountain Training Trust

The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) are seeking a board member to sit the Mountain Training Trust (MTT) Board, the charity responsible for managing Plas y Brenin (PyB).

We’re looking for someone who can be a strong advocate for the BMC on the MTT board and help strengthen the partnership between the two organisations.

Climbing Instructor at Bourne End Junior Sports and Recreational Club

BEJSC are looking for an enthusiastic qualified climbing instructor to help the club deliver our great sporting facilities to the young people of Bourne End and the surrounding areas. You will be involved in providing an exciting and fun environment for our members to engage in their climbing experience.

Location: New Road, Bourne End, Bucks, SL8 5BS

Hours: 4pm to 8pm on two weekdays of your choice with an option to extend to Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays depending on demand for sessions. School term time only for regular weekly sessions. School holidays –- flexible, for extra holiday sessions and climbing parties.

Rate: £ 12 - £15 per hour

BMC Volunteer opportunities

Area volunteers undertake vital roles in the democratic structure of the BMC and the work we do on behalf of members and the wider climbing, hill walking and mountaineering community. Each of the ten BMC Areas (eight in England, two in Wales) holds an Area AGM, at which elections for a range of volunteer roles are held, and outside of these meetings, members can be co-opted into roles. Currently, we have a number of vacant roles.
