Junior British Bouldering Championships
Every year the Junior British Bouldering Championships see the cream of Britain's younger boulderers competing. As a National competition, the Junior British bouldering championships are of a higher standard than the bouldering found in the BMC Youth Climbing Series (YCS). It is aimed at young climbers who may be just starting to compete, those who are trying for selection to the GB Squad, and for British Squad members to be selected for international competitions.

Categories: Junior, Youth A, B and C
Qualification: 5 blocs per category per gender, 5 minutes on, 5 minutes off
Semi-Final: Top percentage of the field will progress to the semi-final, the exact numbers of semi-finalists will be confirmed once registration has closed but provided at least 30competitors per category 20 will progress to semi-finals. No observation, 4 blocs per category per gender, 5 minutes on 5 minutes off
Final: Top 6 competitors per category per gender will progress to the final round. Observation of the final blocs is permitted and 4 blocs, 4 minutes on 4 minutes off.

Fee: £60
- All competitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by one parent/guardian only, but loco parentis can be used where required. If a parent/guardian, spectator or coach volunteers to assist in the running of the competition on the day, this will be in addition to the accompanying adult. Late entries will not be accepted.
- All Under 18's and supervisors will need in-date Depot Waivers and are required to be in the centre in accordance with the Depot's 1:2 supervision ratios. - https://www.depotclimbing.co.uk/manchester/waivers/
- To enter you must complete our online booking form, with successful payment, by the entry deadline. Forms without payment will NOT be accepted.
- All competitors MUST be a current member of the BMC, Mountaineering Scotland or Mountaineering Ireland to enter.
- If you haven’t used the online booking system before, then you will need to create an account to log in.

Cancellation policy
- If you cancel your entry to the competition - you will not be entitled to a refund.
- If the competition is cancelled due to an unforeseen circumstance - you will be entitled to a full refund.
Warm up is available from 8am on both Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday 15 June
Registration: 08:00-08:30am
Junior, Youth A, Youth B and Youth C Females Qualification: 10am
Junior, Youth A, Youth B and Youth C Males Qualification: 14:00pm
Sunday 16 June:
Isolation: Opens at 08:00am, closes at 08:30am
Semi- Final starts at 09:30am and should finish approx. at 13:00pm
Isolation for finalists opens at 15:00pm and closes 15:30pm
Finals start at 17:00pm with athlete presentations, followed by observation of the final boulders.
Award Presentation: Approx. 19:00pm
Special Dispensation may be granted to competitors across the BMC National Competitions.** Special Dispensation may only be granted by completing and submitting the online application form.
Special Dispensation will be independently reviewed by BMC workforce currently working outside of the GB Climbing competition pathway, on a case-by-case basis, and any existing special dispensation will be reviewed annually from 1 January to 31 December, aligned with the climbing competition season.
All special dispensation request need to be submitted with supporting evidence. Special dispensation requests submitted without supporting evidence will be returned to the applicant with a request for more supporting evidence.
