The BMC has collaborated with the Yorkshire Dales National Park to create a new hill walking guide called Into the Dales, designed to empower people from underrepresented groups to access green spaces.

Kiri Wood from the Yorkshire Dales National Park says, “Young people; people from ethnically diverse backgrounds; people with disabilities or mental or physical health conditions and people experiencing economic or social disadvantage are less likely to visit green spaces. Without our support they may never experience the health and well-being benefits of visiting National Parks, and these are our target audience for this booklet. It contains everything you need to know about planning a visit and highlights key safety and planning details, without the need for expensive or fancy kit.”

BMC Partnerships Manager Cressida Allwood said, "This new guide will provide an important access point for everyone who is new to the Yorkshire Dales and we have been very happy to work with the National Park to open up the hills to new groups of walkers from many different backgrounds and walks of life."
