It’s inevitable, because, let’s face it, climbing is the best! If you’re really getting into climbing, you’ll likely want to start getting your own gear that will fit you properly and perform better – such as rental shoes. National Indoor Climbing Award Schemes
National Indoor Climbing Award Schemes are an introduction to climbing and provide a gateway to learning more and developing a love for the sport. The nationally-recognised scheme helps to standardise the teaching and coaching of climbing in a structured manner. There are around 240 centres that run NICAS schemes.
Association of British Climbing Walls (ABC)
The ABC is a small but ambitious organisation set to improve the opportunities and experience of the climbing wall industry and everyone that engages with it. It is their goal to raise the profile of indoor climbing in a positive way so that everyone feels welcomed and proud to be involved. Through their efforts to improve the safety and professionalism of the industry, they aim to improve the experience of climbers and the quality of the workforce; creating habits and career pathways that keep people in the sport for life.
