BMC x ClimbOut Queer Climbing Session at Kendal Mountain Festival
Join us at Kendal Mountain Festival for our Queer Climbing session with ClimbOut Festival.
This is an inclusive and social queer climbing session brought to you by the British Mountaineering Council and the amazing volunteers of ClimbOut Queer Climbing Festival.
Please note this is a social climbing session with no instruction. Some of the ClimbOut team that will be present are fully qualified instructors and will be around to offer some support and tips, if you are new to climbing you will be required by the wall to watch their induction video.

What to bring
This session is open to everyone of all climbing abilities, if you are a seasoned climber with all the kit, please bring your own gear. If you are new to climbing, dress in comfortable active clothing (bring a nice warm jumper too, climbing walls can get chilly too!) please note that climbing shoe hire is free, thanks to the team at Kendal Wall for this session.
Who can come
This event is open to everyone! If under 18, they must be accompanied by their parent/legal guardian at all times for insurance and safeguarding purposes. (both will be required to book a space)

About ClimbOut
ClimbOut became the UK’s first Queer Outdoor Climbing festival in 2023 and successfully ran again in 2024. Combining trad climbing, sport climbing, and bouldering with queer joy outdoors, the ClimbOut community aims to celebrate LGBTQ+ climbers and create a community centred on the intersection between queer joy and climbing.
