Ipsos MORI is carrying out a survey on behalf of Sport England to see what is important to sport participants and to gauge their satisfaction with the quality of the sporting experience.
Understanding and measuring the quality of experience is a crucial element of the recently published Sport England Strategy 2008-11 and is central to Sport England’s commitment to develop a world-leading community sport system.
The BMC is assisting Sport England with implementation of the survey, as a requirement of the continued government funding received by the BMC. A sample of BMC members and selection of people from the mountaineering 'talent pool' will receive an email from Ipsos MORI inviting them to participate in the Sport England survey.
The BMC can give full re-assurance that the personal contact information passed on to Ipsos MORI in order to send out the emails will be kept in strictest confidence and used only for the purpose of this study. Ipsos MORI are acting on behalf of, and under the control of, the BMC as formally appointed data processors. The BMC is committed to ensuring the personal information and contact details it holds on registered participants are held securely and are only used in accordance with the relevant data protection legislation, which permits use of a data processor in this way.
If you have been sent an email inviting you to complete the Sports Satisfaction Survey, the BMC encourages you to do so to help with this important and useful research. It only takes a couple of minutes. However, you are under no obligation to participate in this research if you do not wish to do so.
