Mend Our Mountains: Fix The Fells

Fix The Fells Ranger Funding

Mend Our Mountains will help fund a ranger service to support the work of the 'Fix the Fells' teams in the Lake District National Park for a year. Money raised will be used directly for path repair and will allow the teams the flexibility to use the money when and where it is most needed.

The key responsibilities of the ranger team will include:

  • Deliver a programme of practical upland path work between 1 April and 31 October 2024, in line with the Fix the Fells path work plan for 2024.
  • Plan and prioritise suitable interventions to address upland erosion, primarily through upland path work.  Produce a path specification for each route to be worked on.
  • Track progress on path work through before and after photos.  Complete a job sheet for each route completed, which documents the interventions delivered.

This project needs between £50,000 - £110,000 raised for it to go ahead
