GB Climbing’s Erin McNeice and Max Milne claimed silver medals at the Boulder World Series in Salt Lake City, with McNeice also securing the overall women’s title to cap an outstanding 2026 season.

The pair delivered impressive performances in the final event of the 2026 Boulder World Series, with McNeice adding another major achievement to her growing collection and Milne continuing his strong run of form on the international stage.

Max Milne secured silver in the men’s competition after finishing top of the semi-final standings to qualify for the final.

The British climber finished the final with 59.7 points, topping boulders one and three and reaching the zone on boulder two.

Having claimed the European Boulder Championship title earlier in the season, Milne continued to establish himself among the leading competitors on the international circuit and finished fourth in the overall Boulder World Series rankings with 2,690 points.

After his medal-winning performance, Max said:

"I had fun. It's good progress and it's my best season ever, and it's nice to finish with another podium in my career. I want 10 podiums, so seven more to go.

"Next year, the main focus is to win Euro Games and do all the World Cups - but the main objective is to be in the best shape for the Games."

There was further success for GB Climbing in the men’s competition, with Dayan Akhtar reaching his second final of the season. He finished seventh, scoring 34.5 points after flashing boulder three and reaching the zone on boulder one.

Toby Roberts and Jack MacDougall also delivered strong performances to reach the semi-finals, narrowly missing out on a place in the final after finishing ninth and 10th.

Erin McNeice finished the women’s final with 69.7 points to claim silver in Salt Lake City. She flashed boulders two and four and reached the zone on boulders one and three.

The result capped a remarkable season for the British climber, who opened the series with an 11th-place finish in Keqiao, China, before producing a run of impressive performances to collect one gold and four silver medals across the 2026 campaign.

Erin’s consistency earned her 4,545 points and the overall women’s Boulder World Series title.

Having won the overall Lead World Series title in 2025, McNeice has now become one of just four athletes to win overall series titles in both disciplines. She joins reigning Olympic champion Janja Garnbret, Sorato Anraku and Adam Ondra in achieving the distinction.

The women’s title race went down to the final event, with McNeice, Australia’s Oceania Mackenzie and USA’s Annie Sanders all arriving in Salt Lake City with a chance of claiming the crown. All three were chasing their first overall Boulder World Series title, setting up a competitive conclusion to the season.
