The BMC Access and Conservation Trust marks their 25th anniversary with a warning that investment in Britain’s mountains must keep up with growing outdoor participation.

This January the BMC Access and Conservation Trust started funding a two-year apprenticeship role for the National Trust Cymru path repair team in Eryri (Snowdonia), which is already having an incredible impact on this beautiful mountain landscape.

Last weekend, the BMC brought together climbers, route developers, local activists, technical specialists and industry representatives for the BMC’s first ever Fixed Gear Conference. The conference brought together a wealth of experience from across the climbing community, with over 60 participants representing numerous bolt funds and every BMC local area, plus visitors from Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Spain and from the UIAA in Switzerland.
