The BMC Land & Property Trust - the charity responsible for the BMC's land and property assets - is seeking a new Chair and up to four Trustees to join its Board. There are also opportunities to join our Land Management Group. Over the first weekend of spring, 19 young climbers aged 10 to 17 came together in Wooler for the annual BMC North East / Rock Solid Northumberland Youth Meet 2025. With the iconic sandstone crags of Northumberland as their playground, the group enjoyed two days of climbing, learning and laughter – with just enough rain to provide a valuable lesson in outdoor ethics.

This weekend the BMC’s Big Clean Up on Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) saw 50 volunteers and eight professional mountaineers hiking and abseiling respectively to collect and survey over 4,000 items of plastic pollution from Wales’ highest mountain.

The Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) Big Clean Up returns this Thursday 31 July to Saturday 2 August after a hugely successful event last year with 2,765 items of single-use plastic pollution removed from Wales’ highest mountain by BMC volunteers.
