Firstly, I appreciate the work done by all the team at the BMC and elsewhere to organise these comps, particularly as I know there are financial issues at the moment. I also appreciate that, whatever the format of the days, someone will be unhappy. However, the timings on this seem particularly ill-thought out. Having the qualifiers on Saturday and semis/finals on Sunday means that the kids get a rest, but for anyone who's borderline on making semis there's no way to plan accommodation or the like. We have a 2 hour drive to get there for 8am registration on the Saturday morning, then may have to do the whole journey again at 6am on Sunday morning if they make semis. Alternatively we book a hotel on the offchance and are potentially done by lunchtime on Saturday, or we pay full rate for accommodation at a few hours notice on Saturday afternoon. We're borderline able to make it work by driving, but for an organisation trying to show its green credentials this is poorly thought out. If you come from further afield, like some poor devil who has travelled from Southampton or Aberdeen, it must be a nightmare.

Why not do males qualifying/semis/finals on one day and females the other day, or certain categories one day and the others the other day? Of course, some people may have kids in both, but at least they know that in advance and can plan.

£60 seems like a lot?
I know a few parents who will find it hard to justify the expense.

Has anyone managed to register? The link doesn't work for me, have tried a few different ways but it comes up with a message with opening times that sound like last years
