The first European stage of the ISMF World Cup took place at the middle of January in Courchevel, France, with a Sprint race on the Thursday followed by a Vertical race on the Friday.

Making her debut on the international circuit for the GB Skimo Team, this season, Ursula Catton made a strong start in the Courchevel Sprint race, finishing in 46th place, and improving on her time here last year by 11 seconds.

Emily Harrop, representing France took home the win with an impressive performance triumphing over her compatriot Margot Ravinel.

The traditional Vertical race took place, with GB Skimo Team races, Ursula racing again, along with Christian Kober from the GB Skimo men's team performing well in a top class field.
Held at night, this Vertical race saw the fastest ski mountaineers on the planet compete for the top spots, which last year went to the Frenchwoman Axelle Gachet-Mollaret (Club multisports Arêches Beaufort) and the Swiss Rémi Bonnet.
