This social walk will explore Baslow Edge and Curbar Edge, returning alongside the River Derwent. We’re excited to welcome you for a memorable day in the outdoors!

Mountain Medicine Weekend
The event provides mountain first aid teaching to those who love the outdoors, whether you are a novice or have done first aid courses before, you will learn something.
At the Mountain Medicine Weekend, Doctors, Nurses, Mountain Rescue Volunteers and Paramedics join forces in Hathersage, in the heart of the Peak District, to deliver training and workshops to anyone with an interest in the outdoors, coving topics including mental health first aid, frostbite and hypothermia, injured patient simulations and more. This incredible event will help you gain confidence to take your adventure to the next level safer than before.
Local Area Festivals
Celebrate summer at a BMC Festival! A great way to meet people, learn new skills and have some fun. From Pembroke to Duddon Valley there’s something for everyone including our first ever bi-lingual festival in the heart of Snowdonia. Families, beginners, walkers and climbers – all are welcome.
Conservation Events
The Climate Project Events
BMC Volunteers will be joining National Trust Rangers planting trees in the North York Moors National Park. This is part of a plan to increase tree cover of the National Park up to 25%. Benefits of tree planting include: carbon capture, improved soils, reducing erosion, water logging and flood risk downstream, increased bioversity of birds, mammals, insects and plants, shelter for livestock, and beneficial effect on the landscape. Planting trees will benefit nature, reduce flood risk, and help fight climate change.

In association with Moors for the Future Partnership, BMC volunteers will be planting sphagnum moss in the Goyt Valley area of the Peak District, close to Buxton. Sphagnum moss is a key building block of peat and healthy blanket bog keeps the underlying peat banks safe. Sphagnum traps carbon dioxide and due to its water retention properties it also helps reduce flooding and improves water quality. Therefore protection and restoration of blanket bog is an important part of the fight against climate change.
