With the discount scheme, BMC members can save money on outdoor gear, equipment, expedition kit, and much more. The list just keeps growing. With them as our Official Outdoor Retailers, BMC members can get a whopping 15% off their purchases online and in-store.
How to get your discount
In-store
All you have to do is flash your BMC membership card at the checkout to get your discount.
Online
Enter the BMC member code at the checkout. The code can be found on the back of your BMC membership card
If that's not to hand, contacting the BMC Office via office@thebmc.co.uk or 0161 445 6111 or by directly messaging us on social media.
Please note for 2024: On January 1st 2024, a new code was introduced. If you're membership card still has the old code, please get in contact with the BMC for the new code for online purchases.
Please remember that T&Cs will apply, and you won’t be able to get the discount on items that are already reduced.
Every purchase is also a donation to the BMC's environmental campaigns
Every time a BMC member shops at their stores and receives a discount, either in-store or online, a percentage of the purchase goes towards the BMC's environmental campaigns, including Mend Our Mountains and The Climate Project, to protect the landscapes we love.

- You must have opted-in to be an Explore More members to receive the discount.
Cotswold Outdoor, Snow+Rock and Runners Need have an established partnership programme with many other like-minded outdoor organisations, such as the Mountain Training Association, Plas-y-Brenin, The National Trust and The Ramblers. The BMC have had a long-running relationship with Cotswold Outdoor, Snow+Rock and Runners Need since 2017.
In return for supporting our work, we will promote Cotswold Outdoor, Snow+Rock and Runners Need as our Official Outdoor Retailers, and all BMC members will receive a 15% discount in those stores.
The Explore More scheme is required to administer the programme and you can specify the use of your data i.e. if you are concerned about data use you can request that it is not used in any other way other than to administer the discount on your purchase when in store.
In June 2019 Cotswold launched Explore More, which is their customer loyalty programme. They also now use this programme to administer the discount offer in store for their partner’s members, these discounts are not available to general members of Explore More, only to their partner organisation members.
There are additional benefits to being part of the Explore More scheme which will benefit BMC members:

- Exclusive services, offers and competitions
The system is also used for Cotswold to report our members spend back to us and once we reach certain commission points, this triggers additional payments to the BMC to further contribute to the work we do on behalf of our members and communities.
