Training to replace Fixed Gear - Cheddar Gorge | 14 or 21 March
Interested in helping to replace old fixed gear in Cheddar Gorge?
From Cheddar Fixed Gear Renewal Project, plans for the long-term rebolting of sport routes at Cheddar Gorge.
A lot of work has been going on behind the scenes to prepare for a sustained programme to replace ageing bolts with modern stainless steel glue-ins. The project has strong support from the British Mountaineering Council (BMC).
South West Fixed Equipment (SWFE) is planning to run a funding appeal, and discussions with landowners have been very positive.
The next step is to find and train volunteers to help with installation work. To support this, BMC Cheddar Warden Chris Newton-Goverd has arranged two full-day volunteer training sessions on Sat 14 March and Sat 21 March at a local venue.
Training will be delivered by the renowned Dan Robinson of The Cumbria Bolt Fund.
If you would like to take part in the training, please register using this form:

There will be a cost of £50 to attend the training - this is to support the delivery of training, buying bolts and bolting equipment
