Enhanced BMC Travel Insurance Cover from December 1st 2025
The BMC is making your travel experience even better with enhanced cover to optimise support for climbers, skiers, trekkers and mountaineers while abroad.
Bigger, better cover for every adventure abroad
Since 1 December 2025, all BMC Travel Insurance policies now include even more protection, helping you when you most need it on your adventures. Whether you’re heading out for a week skiing in Europe or planning a full scale expedition, your cover now stretches further than ever. These upgrades apply to both annual multi-trip and single trip policies and across all our policy types including Travel, Trek, Rock, Alpine & Ski and High Altitude & Remote Areas Policies.
New destinations, lower cost
Two popular adventure hotspots are now included in the European policy: Albania and Morocco. That means they’re now cheaper countries to travel to while still being fully covered.
What's been enhanced?
We’ve boosted cover across several key areas to make sure you’re supported from airport to summit:
Baggage was £2,500 now £3,000
- Single article, pair or set limit: was £500 now £750
- Valuables limit: was £500 now £750
- Sports equipment in total: was £1,500 now £2,000 (bicycle limit: £1,000)
- Baggage delay (over 12 hours): £300
- Sports Equipment Delay (over 12 hours): £350
- Loss of Sports Activity Pack: was £250 now £500
Winter Sports Extension Cover
If you’re heading out on skis or a snowboard, your Winter Sports Extension now offers even stronger protection:
- Ski Equipment Loss or Damage: was £500 now £1,500
- Single article/ pair or set limit: was £350 now £1,500
- Hired ski equipment lost / damage: was £350 now £500
- Loss of Ski Pack: was £250 now £250
- Piste Closure (not UK): £300 (£30 per 24 hours)
- Avalanche / Weather Delay: was £500 now £750
Personal Money and Travel Documents
- Personal Money and Travel Documents was £750 now £1,000
- Cash Limit: was £400 now £500
- Loss of passport (travel and accommodation): was £500 now £750
Travel disruption
- Missed Departure / Missed Connection: was £1,000 now £1,500
- Hijack / Kidnap: £2,500 (£100 per 24 hours)
- Mugging: was £250 now £500
- Catastrophe: was £1,000 now £1,500
Strong medical support when it matters
Your Emergency Medical Expenses cover remains one of the most comprehensive around with up to £10 million, including £100,000 in Search and Rescue if you’re reported missing.
