Come join us for a day of adventure!

The Arans are some of the quietest and unexplored mountains in southern Eryri (Snowdonia), and offer some of the most beautiful terrain. This walk will be a peer-led walk covering a variety of mountainous landscapes. We shall be planning the final route together, covering some grassy and some uneven rocky slopes.

The experience is also relevant for those interested in developing navigation techniques and knowledge of the mountains. We may cover some of the following topics: planning and tackling different terrain; appropriate clothing and equipment; strategies for coping with the weather; nature in the uplands; well-being and motivation strategies.

The walk is intended to offer an opportunity to bring these together and build up what makes a good, quality mountain walk and a Quality Mountain Day (QMD) and is designed to allow opportunities for you to raise issues that you want as well as share your own experience with the group.

Note: This is a linear walk with different locations for start and finish. This is facilitated by booking the West Bromwich Mountaineering Group coach, which will pick up and drop at the locations. The event includes giving you the opportunity to discuss issues of mountain leadership and contribute to planning the route, which we will discuss on the coach journey.
