Join us in celebrating the Big Walking Weekend with a social walk in Europe's largest municipal park.

As part of the BMC Big Walking Weekend, BMC Staff Member, Piper Cusmano and BMC volunteers will explore Europe's largest municipal park. The pace will be easy, to allow for lots of chat and exploring. The route is well-paved and is therefore perfect for wheelchair users and families with small children. We’re excited to welcome you for a memorable day in the outdoors!

Walk Details

Walk Grading: Easy

Distance: Approx. 4.7 km (3 miles)

Ascent: 100 m (325 ft)

Duration: Approximately 3 hours

Parking: Pay and display car parks located within the park. There is also free parking available on nearby streets

Facilities: Cafes and toilets are available in the park and shops are available close-by

What to Bring

Please ensure you are well-prepared with appropriate gear

Footwear: Sturdy shoes, trainers or boots with good grip

Clothing: If the forecast is wet, bring a waterproof jacket and consider waterproof trousers and footwear. Hat and gloves for cooler conditions along with a warm jacket

Food and Drink: Cafes are available throughout the park although, if you are bringing your own food and water, this will need to last for 3 hours

Other Essentials: Sun cream is advisable on warmer days

Who Can Attend

Anyone, under 18's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be always kept under close control, please indicate on your booking if you will be bringing a dog

Health Precautions: If you have any health conditions that might impact your participation, please inform us in advance. Carry any required medications, and let the walk leader know if assistance may be needed in accessing them

Covid-19: Please do not attend if you feel unwell or have Covid-19 symptoms

If you are unsure of your ability or would like advice regarding kit and suitability for this walk, please email the leader in advance
