Langdale Hike: 25 year celebration of CRoW act | 30th November
Come and join us to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the passing into law of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act, 2000. The act that gave us the legal right to walk on open access land across England and Wales.
BMC Hill Walking: Connect, Roam, Observe, Wander
As a key player in delivery of this right, the BMC is keen for you to enjoy our access. The route takes in three Wainwright summits (Pavey Ark, Harrison Stickle and Pike o’Stickle) with extensive views of Langdale valley and Bow Fell. If time permits, we will also visit the site of the Stone Age Axe Factory, a cluster of Neolithic quarry and working sites where polished stone axes were made from volcanic greenstone.
Led by BMC Lakes area Chair, Liz Jolley and BMC Lakes area Hill Walking Rep, Ken Taylor. We’re excited to welcome you for a memorable day in the outdoors!
