BMC Peak Area Hill Walk | Monday 2nd June

The walk follows the route of the ‘Sheffield Round Walk’ which is a 26km circular walk that takes you on a tour of the countryside, woods, parks and waterways surrounding the city of Sheffield. If you’ve ever wanted to do this iconic walk but haven’t got round to it, now is your chance! We’re excited to welcome you for a memorable day in the outdoors!

You are invited to join a peer-led walk, hosted and led by BMC Peak area volunteer, Linda Moran. Linda is a qualified Mountain Leader and is a member of both the Chamois Mountaineering Club and the Rucksack Club.

Distance: Approx. 26 km (16 miles)
Ascent: 500 m (1,650 ft)
Duration: Approximately 11 hours

Public Transport: Bus number 181 will take you from Sheffield city centre (or Dore) to Ringinglow. The start location is a 5-8 min walk from the bus stop. Here is the bus timetable
What to Bring
We’ll cover a range of terrains, so please ensure you are well-prepared with appropriate gear
Footwear: Sturdy, water-resistant hiking boots or shoes with good grip
Clothing: Dress in layers, including a warm layer and waterproofs, as conditions can vary; bring a hat and gloves for cooler areas
Food and Drink: Bring enough food and water for a full day’s hike; there will be no places to purchase refreshments en route
Other Essentials: Although we plan to finish within daylight hours, carrying a small torch or head torch is advisable for emergencies
Who Can Attend
Open to BMC members, friends, family, and those interested in BMC’s work. Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Health Precautions: If you have any health conditions that might impact your participation, please inform us in advance. Carry any required medications, and let the walk leader know if assistance may be needed in accessing them
Covid-19: Please do not attend if you feel unwell or have Covid-19 symptoms
