2025 Selection Documents Update
We are pleased to announce the release of the 2025 selection documents, subject to Board Approval.
Following the second public consultation process (find details from the first consultation here), the documents have been adjusted to incorporate the feedback received and to reflect recent developments in competition structures. You can read more in the second ‘you said we did’ here
Recent news indicates that, along with the IFSC, IFSC Europe will likely adopt new age categories in 2025, affecting the competitions available to these age groups internationally. Notably, the U21 category will possibly not be part of the European Youth Cup series but will remain in the World and European Youth Championships. IFSC Europe has proposed that an U21 category be included in the European Cup series, where this age group would compete alongside the Seniors. While this proposal has not been confirmed, the documentation has been adjusted to accommodate this potential change.
There are areas in documents where updates have been made and the CCPG and the BMC Board of Directors will make a final decision wherever there is some difference of opinion in the proposed process.
The CCPG and BMC Board have agreed to publish the latest version of the documents, subject to board approval, to ensure everyone is aware of the updates before the final sign-off and approval.
We extend our gratitude for your patience and thank the CCPG and BMC Board volunteers for dedicating their time to supporting the approval of the selection documents.
Consultation Allocation and Movement Update
We wanted to keep you informed about a delay in releasing the final documents from our recent development of the selection processes.
Originally, we aimed to have the documents ready by Friday 16 August 2024. However, due to the busy period following the hugely successful Olympic Games, it has taken longer than expected to update and publish the final documents.
The valuable feedback we received during the consultation required some key decisions to be made, which in turn has led to additional time being required to make the adjustments recommended by the board and the CCPG.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work towards finalising these documents. We now plan to release the updated findings by Friday 30 August. Thank you for your continued support.
